The Denton County Sheriff's Office accepts and reviews complaints involving Sheriff's Office employees when such complaints allege violations of agency policy or standards of conduct. The Office of Internal Affairs is responsible for investigating administrative allegations of policy violations involving Sheriff's Office personnel. Any allegation that a Sheriff's Office employee has engaged in criminal conduct shall be referred to the Criminal Investigations Division for appropriate review and investigation.

Complaints involving employees of other law enforcement agencies must be submitted directly to the respective agency with jurisdiction. The Denton County Sheriff's Office does not have the authority to investigate personnel matters involving employees of other agencies. If this complaint is related to a call for service, i.e., barking dogs, noise complaint, theft, etc., please call 911 for emergencies or 940-349-1600 for non-emergencies.
